Donut Muffins!! Yum!


Here is the recipe for donut muffins. They are so tasty, my whole family loves them!  They are also easy to do!!  The kids have asked that they be done at all our our “Big” breakfasts!  And you can top them however you like.  I am still working on the chocolate and vanilla icing.  I will post it when I get it down to a science!

 

Donut Muffins

 

Ingredients:

½ Cup Sugar

¼ Cup Butter (Softened)

¾ teaspoon Nutmeg or Cinnamon

½ Cup Milk

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 Cup Flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven to 375 degrees.
  2.  Mix ½ cup sugar, ¼ cup butter, and nutmeg in mixer.  Add in milk, then baking powder and flour until just combined.
  3. Fill half full in mini muffins. Makes about 24 muffins.
  4. Bake for 15-20 or until lightly golden.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

¼ Cup Butter (Melted)

½ Cup Sugar

1 teaspoon Cinnamon

  1. Dip muffins in melted butter and then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
  2. Let cool and serve.

Powdered Sugar Coating:

¼ Cup Butter (Melted)

1Cup Confectioner’s Sugar

  1. Dip muffins in melted butter and then roll in confectioner’s sugar.
  2. Let cool and serve.

 

Glaze:

¼ Cup Milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 Cups Confectioner’s Sugar

  1. Combine milk and vanilla in saucepan and heat over low until warm.
  2. Sift in confectioner’s sugar until well combined.
  3. Dip Donuts in the glazed, one at a time, set on draining rack placed on sheet pan.
  4. Let set for 5 minutes then serve.
